New university residence
The university residence is a complex project that involves aspects related to leisure, socializing, sharing of knowledge and culture. Hence the decision to give special attention to common areas, trying to put them at the center of the project.
The project uses the open space in front of the buildings as spatial core and perceptive reference to all buildings to be realized.
The ground floor is divided into two main areas, one facing the inner courtyard of the complex, which houses the common multipurpose space, and the one on the opposite side, which houses various service functions. The common area develops along the whole length of the building, completely free from pillars and used as a multipurpose space; the central area is flanked on both sides, according to a regular scan, additional spaces, like "islands" otherwise configurable through the use of the furniture, to create areas for study, relaxation, socialization, etc.
The service areas are configured as identical blocks, arranged in a regular scan and separate from the courts windows. The project places a particular focus on the configuration of these spaces, rationalizing the distribution and optimizing their internal organization.
