Poetto waterfront redevelopment
The project for the new Poetto waterfront is set up as a new ecological infrastructure, capable of promoting relations, ties, connections. An infrastructure able to re-establish relations with the ecosystems and to build new ones, to offer fruition and scenarios for the new landscape.
The project focuses on the study of the sections in order to highlight strengths and any weakness in the solutions to be adopted. In particular, the reference values were:
- the perception of the new waterfront from the sea and the beach in order to mitigate the impact;
- the study of the openings to the surrounding landscape (Sella del Diavolo, the fishpond system, Gulf of Cagliari) and the long-distance urban skyline;
- the study of solutions that maximize the level of safety of users with particular attention to vulnerable groups;
- the principles of technical feasibility, efficiency, economy and rationality of management and maintenance of the same;
- the study of solutions designed to maximize the ability to adapt to future needs and transformations: the boardwalk system, designed as a continuous complex becoming, will allow the integration of new equipment and services, the variation of the beach access on the basis of dune ecosystem changes and changes in the use of the shoreline.
