University hospital expansion
The project aims to reorganize and integrate the new building with those of the existing hospital (SS Annunziata) and of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery.
The objective of the intervention is to create a cutting-edge facility for technological solutions, as well as for the quality and ease of response to future changes in medicine and in biomedical and information technologies, without losing sight of the aspects of comfort, efficiency, humanization and containment of maintenance and management costs.
The definition of spaces and paths of the complex deals with the idea of maximum opening to the city, while ensuring the patient' safety and tranquility; at the same time, the hospital's location in an urbanized area with a predominant residential character, the project aims to protect the interests and prerogatives of both users of the hospital district (patients, staff, external users) and the inhabitants and citizens of the neighboring areas.
Volumes, functions and connective spaces dialogue according to the needs associated with streams, paths and entrances, with the link between external and internal, with the functional organization of the different hospital areas.
It will be guaranteed the full and effective link with the existing part of the Surgery Building, with the Palazzo Clemente, and with the hospital SS Annunziata, creating a systematic system of connecting paths, so that the resulting hospital building is complete, efficient and safe for patients, staff and visitors.
The arrangement of departments and health and hospital services respects the departmental principle even while maintaining flexibility and openness to different management models.
