New sports hall
The project aims to create a new urban space for the city. The structure, technologically advanced and able to adapt to a complex and flexible functional program, is seamlessly integrated in the urban area structurare, configuring itself as the focal point of the large sports park called Sa Rodia.
The project focuses on creating a recognizable and instantly identifiable architectural sign, capable of fitting in the context of the sports park and of the surrounding green areas. A slight modeling of the terrain, obtained from the reuse of the material from excavations, generates raiusings which, by organizing the external space, giving accomodation to the base of the building, reducing the fronts and increasing the accessibility and usability. The proposed volume is built with extreme linearity and purity of forms. The flat and light cover, supported by a metal structure, is separated by the underlying volume in a vibrating way
The outer skin of the building is made from a base of concrete panels and from a higher volume in metal panels. The windows below the cover allows the passage of light with an angle that does not interfere with the performance of sporting activities and are partly openable to ensure the natural ventilation; the attenuation of natural light is also obtained through a screen printed pattern that generates a continuous band along the entire glazing. Externally, the cover is protected by metal multilayer panels.
