International scout camp

The intervention, aimed at enriching the local tourist offer, is located in a rural area characterized by Mediterranean scrub and oak areas and defines the location of a first settlement nucleus able to accommodate about 100 scouts, also defining the methods and types for the future development of the project.
The project is structured in a nucleus (the "herd") for 60 guests up to 11 years of age, characterized by the presence of two blocks to be used as dormitories, a service block and a refectory building, organized along the internal roads existing and made entirely of wood. A further 40 users will be hosted in the "unit" area, consisting of pitches for tents organized around the service block which in this case will be housed in an existing building. There will also be an aggregative and social space, called "camp fire", consisting of wooden elements arranged around a central space to take advantage of the natural inclination of the land and the suggestive view towards the surrounding hills.
The entire project is based on maximum environmental and economic sustainability. In fact, all interventions are entirely reversible characterized by a deep research driven especially in terms of energy savings (wide use of photovoltaic and solar thermal) and water (reduction of consumption and water recovery), as well as in relation to the recyclability of the materials and to the their thermohygrometric performance, in addition to healthiness in relation to the health effects on future users (materials with reduced emissions).
The project also pursues with great attention the objective of extended accessibility, guaranteeing full usability in autonomy and security for all groups of weak users of each of the structures and facilities envisaged.
