Facade Maintenance - La Rinascente
The project involved the external façades of the building that houses La Rinascente, one of the architectural landmarks in the center of Cagliari. The aim of the intervention was to preserve and enhance the identity of the building through a restoration that respected its urban image and focused on the refurbishment of the painted surfaces across all masonry elements, including decorative details, cornices, and balconies.
The work began with a thorough analysis of the façade’s condition, paying particular attention to stone elements, cornices, and plastered surfaces. Damaged sections were removed and the original finishes were restored using techniques compatible with the historical materials.
The intervention included repainting the façades in colors matching the original tones, as well as the careful restoration and selective replacement of deteriorated decorative elements.
The result is a project that restores the building’s historical and architectural dignity while contributing to the revitalization of the urban fabric—a delicate balance between memory and modernity that renews the dialogue between architecture and the city.
