Hospital project financing proposal

The design choice for the "new hospital" aims to set up all existing volumes divided into several buildings, in a single new building, able to respond to all regulatory and functional character requirements for an Emergency Departments and Acceptance (DEA) of a second level. According to this rationalization of space and concentration of volumes, it is expected to keep only the pavilion currently under construction that, for its location and configuration, it is useful and functional to new volumes provided. The new plan sees all new volumes concentrated along Rockefeller st., connected directly to the pavilion under construction.
The proposed new building allows a radical reorganization of functions needed for hospital activities. The departments, that were once scattered among several pavilions and therefore difficult to reach and manageable, are now grouped and connected in an optimal manner. Within the project, special attention was paid to the integration with the existing structures that are reorganized. The project involves the construction of a building consisting of two interrelated components: the plate and the upper blocks. The plate, of five floors height and a basement, hosts general utility functions; the upper block, of six floors height, is designed to accommodate the specific functions related to departmental activities.
