New Police Headquarters Offices
The historical building's redevelopment project, promoted by the Municipal Administration, involved both the restoration of the facades and the reorganization of the interior spaces to meet the new needs of the Police Headquarters, while maintaining the original layout and traditional materials. The work was carried out in accordance with the approved project, complying with current regulations and taking into account the historical features of the building.
In detail, the interventions included the complete restoration of the internal flooring, using gres and "Biancone Tirreno" marble, and the removal of all outdated systems, which were replaced with new technological systems, including electrical, HVAC, and surveillance systems. A new central staircase was built, restoring the original layout, and dehumidifying plaster was applied to preserve the existing stone walls, also addressing the issues of water infiltration.
Regarding external works, the restoration of the doors and facades was carried out using specific techniques for stripping and painting to maintain the original appearance, while the internal facade was renovated with thermal insulating plaster to improve energy efficiency. All external windows were replaced with new "Mogano Sapelle" wood windows, similar to the original ones, maintaining the stylistic coherence and improving the building's thermal insulation.
