Urban park via Vittorio Emanuele II
The aim of the project is to provide the context with a green area, alternative to the large nearby park named after Sergio Atzeni, serving the surrounding residential settlement, thus completing a significant void at the centre of the residential complex developed in the 1990s.
In particular, the project will be developed in such a way as to meet the needs of the widest range of users, providing spaces for children to play, areas for the elderly to socialize, a confined dog area and spaces for relaxation suitable for all users.
The public space is configured as a series of overlapping layers made up of pathways (paved in architectural concrete), green areas (simply turfed or made with paving systems), play areas (in coloured rubber) and relaxation areas (in stabilised gravel), thus creating a series of spaces that users can make the most of according to their needs.
The project is based on the criteria of sustainability (choice of autochthonous essences with low water requirements, low-consumption installations, water supply by means of a well, etc.) and broad accessibility (i.e. the possibility of autonomous and safe use by all categories of users regardless of their psychophysical conditions).
Formally, the project pursues a minimalist approach, putting function before form and leaving plenty of room for greenery: the paths are shaped on the basis of clear guidelines that guide their composition, the choice of furnishing elements falls on monolithic concrete elements (for tables, chairs, etc.) as well as the lighting system, which is characterised by an essential design.
