The project proposal, while following the guidelines of the preliminary draft of the tender process, makes some changes of the compositional character. The building is part of a complex context: "Cittadella Universitaria di Monserrato". It has therefore chosen to facilitate the definition of formal solutions targeted to promote the recognition of the individual parts, providing distinct volumetric solutions among the buildings intended for offices, studies, conference room and laboratories.
Whereas the different scale ratio between the front bodies, proportionate on classrooms, and the amount of mechanical laboratories and transport, it was considered to articulate the first according to a logical assembly between parts who accentuates the increased complexity of the destinations, and introducing, for this purpose, a rotation of the upper volume, that supports, at the same time, the direction not orthogonal to the road that runs along the front of the area.
