Redevelopment of Santa Lucia area
The redevelopment project addresses a number of critical issues that have remained unresolved for years, proposing measures that, in an organic way, will improve the overall quality of the area. Part of the project consists of redeveloping the road network with the definitive redefinition of the roundabout intersection in order to improve safety and the fluency of local traffic ( repaving of asphalt and horizontal and vertical signage, implementation of LED lighting system on the lighting tower). The work on the road network also includes the extension of the existing bicycle path with a connection to the nearby cemetery area through the park and the predisposition for the future connection to the overall bicycle system developed by the Municipality.
Further work will be concentrated on the area inside the park, with the redevelopment of the pedestrian area along Via Cagliari (removal of the asphalt and its replacement with continuous paving made of architectural concrete, implementation of power supplies for temporary events, definition of a two-way cycle path) with a view to creating a multifunctional urban space that can be used periodically for temporary activities (markets, cultural and sporting events, recreational activities).
In addition, the existing park area will be redesigned with a focus on lighting in order to increase safety levels for users, while at the same time enhancing the ancient church of Santa Lucia.
