Municipal sports park

The project is located in a transitional area, suspended between city and countryside, and engages with a complex landscape composed of residual spaces and environmental constraints. The intervention meets the client’s functional needs while establishing a dialogue with the natural context, without replicating pre-existing urban models.
The first phase involved the partial demolition of an existing building within the river buffer zone and its reconstruction along the same axis, maintaining the same volume and built area. The new structure, serving the sports facilities, acts as a hinge between green areas and functional spaces, and includes locker rooms, a first aid room, technical rooms, and accessible spaces designed for maximum comfort and inclusivity.
The architectural design enhances the inner courtyard as a central distribution hub and a place for social interaction, around which the various spaces are organized. Covered walkways, pergolas, and large windows ensure natural ventilation, daylighting, and year-round usability of the spaces, even during warmer seasons.
Outside, the project includes two tennis courts and a municipal sports park integrated with pedestrian paths, accessible also to those not engaged in sports activities. Parking and access areas are shielded by green buffer zones with existing trees. The built complex acts as a connecting element between the "urban plaza" and the surrounding sports-natural landscape, creating an open, functional, and landscape-integrated system.
