IPSAR - Hotel management school
The Hotel School has some unique characteristics compared to other types of colleges: its laboratories transform daily perishables and teaching is based on daily practice combined with traditional schooling over the use of new technologies. The architecture must give account and testimony these peculiarities, summarizing the complexity from a logical and functional point of view. The area was treated as a matrix, a canvas, in which from time to time take place the individual functional elements and the relationship between these spaces. To land it is chosen to overlay a composition by Paul Klee, an abstract device able to guide the composition through a logic of subtle suggestions.
From a formal point of view it was decided to reject the misconception that associates the tourist and hotel architecture with a "vernacular" approach, unsuited to correctly represent the complex program of the hotel school. The school complex is divided into a number of separate bodies, consisting of pure solid treated with the brise soleil to shield the direct insolation openings, so that the program is clearly legible to users and visitors to the school.
