“Pratzas” non è un progetto né un appalto nel senso usuale dei due termini.
E’ un processo di recupero di significati e di funzioni in un’area vasta che racchiude il cuore della Città. Coincide in parte con il Centro Storico ma non è solo il Centro. Prevede interventi su diverse Vie ma non è un progetto di opere di urbanizzazione o arredo urbano. Ristruttura diversi edifici ma non è un intervento di edilizia. In alcuni casi usa solo la luce. In altri solo le pavimentazioni. In altri ancora solo l’architettura.
E’ un modo nuovo di operare fatto di tracce invisibili e di continuità culturale che si propone di accompagnare il visitatore lungo percorsi tematici alla scoperta di luoghi ed episodi significativi, ma quei luoghi non sono il fine. Lo scopo vero dell’itinerario è il percorrere il Centro osservandolo nella sua articolazione e complessità e non è la meta né l’episodio emergente.
Vie, slarghi, piazze, edifici e funzioni ospitate al loro interno, tutto diventa occasione di conoscenza e di riflessione e,infine, è la Città nel suo insieme il vero elemento identitario. “Pratzas” è questo ed il progetto cerca di interpretarne il senso che si svolge nell’accompagnare il visitatore alla scoperta della Città, con garbo e con delicatezza, alla ricerca e nel rispetto del Genius loci, quella impalpabile identità dei luoghi che li rende unici ed alla quale è affidato il difficile compito di tramandare l’identità storica.
"Pratzas" is not a project or a contract in the usual sense of the terms.
It's a process to recover meanings and functions on an area that encloses the heart of the city partially included in the historical center but not just in the center. It includes interventions on different paths but it is not a project of urbanization or urban design. It retrains several buildings but it is not a building intervention. In some cases only uses light. In others only the floors. In others only the architecture.
It's a new way to operate made of invisible traces and cultural continuity that aims to accompany the visitor along thematic routes to discover places and significant events, but those places are not the target. The true purpose of the itinerary is travelling watching the Center of the city in its articulation and complexity, and is not the goal nor the emerging episode.
Streets, plazas, squares, buildings and functions held within them, everything becomes an opportunity for knowledge and reflection and, finally, is the City as a whole the real identifying element. "Pratzas" is this and the project seeks to interpret sense that takes place in accompanying the visitor to the discovery of the City, gracefully and gently, seeking and respecting the "Genius loci", the impalpable identity of the places that makes them unique and which it is entrusted with the difficult task of handing down the historical identity.
